Richard Leach’s Street Band started life in 2012 as a strolling jazz ensemble at the various town festivals in Richard’s home town of Droitwich in Worcestershire.
The infectious two-beat nature of the band’s rhythm is helped along by the inclusion of a sousaphone in the line-up and the band is fast gaining fans on the jazz club and festival circuit.
A host of experienced professional jazz musicians make up the personnel of the band and Richard himself has picked up three awards for his musicianship during his career.
The regular line-up of the band comprises Richard Leach on trombone, Tony Pipkin on cornet, Zoltan Sagi on clarinet and alto sax, Mark Challinor on banjo, guitar and ukulele, Dave Deakin on sousaphone and Nick Ward on drums and percussion.
